April Scipio and Elaine Fleming chat about not being OK and the importance of community in your journey of emotional health. Elaine shares how she discovered she was a daughter of a King. She realizes that being in healthy community showed her that she is loved. Her journey has allowed her to cross paths with people who are hurting physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She is a firm believer that it is OK, not to be OK. Elaine shares about how her daughter battled depression and how she had to navigate through that as a mom. It was real spiritual warfare. While she received clinical help, restoring her spiritually became a priority. Now on the other side of this struggle, Elaine and her daughter are both so much stronger in their relationships with the Lord. Elaine believes that it's important to be in community during dark times in your life. She encourages us to confide in someone we trust to love on us and take care of us when we need someone to lean on and hold you up. Being a Christian doesn't exempt you from being hurt. It is important for us to be there for each other. This is why small groups are so important. If you are hurting and you do not have community, please reach out! Enjoy this episode!
